One of the greatest opportunities of festivals of any kind is the building of communities. Even though we may only come together for Maitreya festival once a year, we are all part of a community here and around the world celebrating our interconnectedness to each other. We really are all much much closer than it seems...we hope we can offer a platform for new ways to understand this and transform it for peace and love in our world.

We want you all to be as involved as much as possible, spreading understanding and learning between each other! So please come with an open mind, ready to take on board something new, or gain new understanding of the ideas you already have.

Maitreya will provide a full program of learning and participation on all days of the event from dawn till dusk for free, and there will be additional services offered for a small cost throughout the event.

Ceremony is a very important part of ritual, bringing together people for a common cause. During the event we will have several ceremony's that we hope you can get involved in. Intent is important and we hope you can share this with us.

Friday night welcoming ceremony
Apart from a huge welcome, this is where all the crazy energies of arrival can be grounded into intent for the festival ahead. You create the vibe of the event, and this is the perfect place to tune into those around you and the highest possibilities of the special place you are in.

Main stage opening ceremony
A welcome to country will be performed by the local indigenous crew, and the laws of respect and acknowledgement will be laid down. We will have a smoking ceremony for cleansing, and large crystals will be placed in the ground, we invite you to be involved in both of these and help us set the energy of the main dance space.

Festivals now provide an amazing, growing context for thousands of people to learn about topics they had no idea about, or to participate in further learning, with a wide variety of people who you would never normally do so with.

This amazing developing context, of scholarly interest outside traditional scholarly context, enables us to bring you an amazing variety of wisdom from far and wide that could not be assembled in any other setting.
In the shady, comfortable surrounds we will bring together presentations, workshops, and discussions, covering everything from healthy living, to didgeridoo, from bio-diesel, to natural medicine, from anthropology, to mathematics, politics, astrotheology,self awareness, self sustainability, artistic expression, freedom, and everything in between.

There will be space and opportunity for spontaneous presentations or workshops throughout the event, however if you would like to hold something we would prefer to here about it and incorporate it into our programming.
