Market Stall Guidelines

Market Stall Fee's

Market stall fee's will be assessed on an individual basis depending upon stall size and whether you will be serving food/drinks. We will contact you regarding this once your application has been received.

Your fee includes 2 tickets per stall, you can purchase up to an additional 10 tickets per stall at $150 per ticket. All extra tickets must be paid at the same time as your stall fee. Stall fee's including all extra tickets must be received in full by Febuary 16th.

Food & Drink Stalls Servingware & Menu

Maitreya Festival will again be requiring the use of biodegradable serving ware by all food & beverage vendors. This means a condition of the application is that you agree not to use any plastic or Styrofoam serving ware and that all packaging and cutlery is compostable. If you would like any help in sourcing your serving ware please contact our markets manager Lauren at info@maitreyafestival.com.

Please note: No trader at the event is allowed to sell bags of ice, alcohol or any drinks (including red bull, vitamin or nutrient water) which have not previously been discussed and accepted by the Maitreya markets coordinator.

Provisions

As well as providing the patrons to the festival… power, water, toilets, recycling and general waste disposal are all provided by the festival and inclusive in your stall fee. You will need to provide all your infrastructure and equipment including marquees or shade, lighting, power cables (must be tagged and tested), tables, chairs, etc.

Health & Safety Permits

Council Notification

All food vendors must have a certificate of registration as a temporary/mobile food vendor and adhere to all guidelines set under the Food Act 1984.

Under the new state-wide system, all relevant Council(s) must be notified where and when you will be trading. A statement of trade must be submitted to the council you are registered with and the council who's district you will be trading in no later than 5 days prior to the event. It is the responsibility of the food vendor to complete this process. Food traders who fail to notify relevant council(s) will not be permitted to trade. Power

You are required to test and tag all of your electrical plugs and power leads to Victorian Standards. On-site inspections by electrical and fire protection staff will be conducted prior to the operation of your stall. If you need assistance in working out your power requirements, or testing and tagging your equipment, please contact us for further instructions.

Application & Fee Due dates

Febuary 9th is the closing date for all market stall applications unless already full, so please get your application in early to avoid disappointment.

Payment for your market stall is due by Febuary 16th.
